What Silent Generators Have

What Silent Generators Have

Due to inevitable circumstances and energy shortage, we lose our electric power. Loss of power will not do any good to businesses and our everyday activities. Aside from the inconvenience it will cause people, this would mean a great loss for business. To lessen the unwanted effect of power outages, generators were invented. Well, with generators, we could continue to carry out our daily activities without hassle since we do have a back-up.

We don’t have to worry about the loss anymore since generators are devised to carry out the processes that the electric power left off. There are a lot of generators we can choose from today. There are general generators some generators classified based on the energy that feeds it or even those which are classified according to what they can do for us. One thing is common to most of the generators.

They produce a sound to carry out their functions. The sound is some kind of an outlet for generators to function. We will be dealing more about the things that silent generators have that is missing with regular generators. Silent generators have sound proof materials attached inside its body. It is not true that Silent-Generator do not emit sound at all.

They do have sound, but its minimal and it can be barely heard because of the sound proof materials that are attached to it. It may be in a form of specialized metallic elements that are attached to the body to trap the sound inside it, avoiding sound leaks. That is why even though the silent generator emits a sound, we can barely hear it since the sound proof metals attach inside would block the sound coming from the generator, leaving an impression of a silent and smooth operation.

There are some devices that are not sound proof to prevent the leakage of the sound but rather minimizing the sound. Most computerized generators today have this feature. Since they are run by the computers, the sound level can easily be adjusted and certain sound-creating features can be eliminated to as not to produce sound within the operation. Since it is run through the aid of built-in computer system, they can also be operated with sound to minimize energy consumption, but the features can be changed based on the operator’s preference.

There are some sound proof internal devices attached to the Silent-Generator upon manufacture for a smooth sailing operation. Although these devices were not employed to the older model generators, there are specialized silent generators which have this feature. In some cases, this will help he specialist find out the problem with the generator. If the silent generator emits a sound something is wrong with the little pieces inside that help prevent the sound output.

It is very important to have a little background check about the generators that you are trying to get. In some instances, this information is essential in betting understanding about the processes that identify silent generators among others. By making sure about the generator that we want to get, it will save us time, money, and effort in looking for a Silent-Generator of our choice and making the most out of it.

Use Rope Lights Anywhere You Want

Use Rope Lights Anywhere You Want

You’ve probably seen rope lights around before, perhaps being used as path lighting in a dark movie theater or winding around a tree as a holiday decoration. Those are just a couple of the many uses of rope lights. If you haven’t seen rope lights, think of Christmas string lights; rope lights are like those except that in rope lights the light bulbs are inside a plastic tube instead of attached to the outside of a power cord.

That’s basically what a rope light is; tiny light bulbs in a malleable plastic sheath that acts like a rope. The wattage of each light bulb on the rope is about .5 watts, and they’re most commonly spaced about an inch away from each other. A rope light with the latter requirements consumes around 6 watts for foot. At that rate it would take some 10 feet of rope lights to consume the same amount of power as a single 60 watt incandescent light bulb.

You can see that rope lights barely use any electricity. Coupled with that is their rated lifetime of around 25,000 hours. Even using them four hours each day, it would take some 17 years for these micro LED lights to burn out. The “rope” in rope lights comes in two common sizes: 3/8 inch and ½ inch. The only difference between these two sizes is the thickness of the plastic jacket; brightness and energy usage are not affected. If you want to check out rope lights of differing brightness, look for the watts per foot. A 5.5 watts per foot rope light is brighter than one with 3.36 watts per foot.

Uses for rope lights are almost endless. Place it along shelves, mantles, and use it to accent bookcases, cabinets, doors, and even windows. Dark places like the inside of a closet are great for rope lights, as they avoid glare and provide nice indirect light. Outdoor applications include trailing them along decks and deck railings, or illuminating stairs/steps/pathways.

Importance of Paper and Card Making Materials in Birthdays

Importance of Paper and Card Making Materials in Birthdays

Birthdays are one of the most important time of the year for someone. It is that one special day when everyone’s attention is on him or her. For some, they actually feel popular when it is their birthday because of the avalanche of greetings that they would receive on their mobile phones and now on their Facebook walls. It is through those greetings that many people tend to affirm their existence and importance into the life of the people around them. It is one of the best feeling in the world during birthdays when you realize that you are also equally special to people who matters to you the most.

And of course such special day would not be complete without a celebration or a party. Could you imagine a party being held without using even a single piece of paper? Your banners and other party stuff would not be made of paper, impossible, isn’t it? Paper is a crucial component in our lives, particularly during birthdays. Most party favors are usually made of paper. But, why is it? You may ask. Aside from the fact that paper is pretty cheap, there are also a lot of things that you could do with paper. It’s a very versatile kind of material. You could play on its color, shape and size!

But other than the festivities that come with the birthday party, we should never forget the many smiles and laughter that the gift brings to the celebrator. It is through those gifts that the special role that the birthday celebrator plays on his or her guest is immortalize. More often, these gifts are normally symbolic. Aside from the gift itself, they could also mean something else. It could be the very thing that started their friendship or the one thing that they could remind themselves of their special bond at any given time. Gifts during birthdays are really so special that it is already considered as a sin if you would come in a birthday party without a gift.

But what could make us even more special is when we receive a personalized card in our birthday! Sure, personalized cards are already considered as the scapegoat once you have either forgotten to buy a gift or you are too busy or lazy to buy a gift. But then again, if you would think about it even more, card making is even a more toxic job as compared to finding the perfect gift. It would lead you to go to shopping for all the card making materials that you will be needing to complete your masterpiece and you would really have to spend a considerable time while you will be making it. Plus the fact that, after all the toil and hard work, you would also need to come up with a very meaningful message in the birthday card.

In terms of principles & outlook in life, that is, I guess, I am a strong willed person and that i am the type who “doesn’t go with the flow”. I have always been a believer of the paradigm that i don’t have to do a thing just because everybody is doing it. I value moral fiber and good sense of virtue.

What is Duty of Care and Why is Managing Road Risk so Important for Business Fleets?

What is Duty of Care and Why is Managing Road Risk so Important for Business Fleets?

The facts

• Every week in the UK over 20 people are killed and 250 seriously injured in “at-work” road traffic

accidents (RoSPA). According to the government, “for the majority of people, the most dangerous

thing they do while at work is drive on the public highway” (HSE)

Legal responsibilities

• Under The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, employers are instructed of their “duty to ensure so far as is reasonably practicable the health, safety and welfare at work of all employees”

Employer duty of care is reinforced by the corporate manslaughter offence under which companies can be prosecuted for deaths to drivers and other road users caused as a result of a work related journeys where negligence is proven

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

• Road accidents result in awful human losses for families, friends and colleagues of drivers,

passengers and other road users and have a negative impact on the wider community

• Accidents, congestion and poor driving exacerbate the environmental impact of running fleets

Financial benefits

Better driving should lead to:

• Fewer accidents, with reduced repair costs and/or insurance premiums

• Lower fuel consumption

• Reduced maintenance costs, especially tyres and brakes

• Improved vehicle condition and performance at sale and/or reduced damage recharges

• Less vehicle rental expenditure

Typically fleets can expect a 15-20% reduction in fleet costs in the first year following the implementation of a risk management program.

Business advantages

Fewer accidents mean:

• Fewer lost business opportunities, deliveries, loads, customer complaints, etc.

• Less usage of temporary contract staff or overtime to cover staff absences

• Reduced risk of prosecution

• Less time spent on non-revenue generating activity e.g. accident related admin, investigation, etc

• Improved staff morale

• All of which also carry, albeit possibly less tangible, financial benefits

• Improved environmental and CSR record

• Potentially positive (and perhaps more importantly

avoidance of negative) PR

Financial Markets (ECON 252) Insurance provides significant risk management to a broad public, and is an essential tool for promoting human welfare. By pooling large numbers of independent or low-correlated risks, insurance providers can minimize overall risk. The risk management is tailored to individual circumstances and reflects centuries of insurance industry experience with real risks and with moral hazard and selection bias issues. Probability theory and statistical tools help to explain how insurance companies use risk pooling to minimize overall risk. Innovation and government regulation have played important roles in the formation and oversight of insurance institutions. How to Fit Solid Wooden Floors

How to Fit Solid Wooden Floors

BASIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR FITTING SOLID WOOD FLOORING

You have chosen a solid wood floor which we are sure you will enjoy for years to come. Please read these instructions and advice before proceeding with installation or unpacking. Solid wood is a natural product and as such will react to its local environment by expanding and contracting. It is important that some basic rules are followed to ensure a trouble free installation and future enjoyment.

BEFORE INSTALLATION

Make sure that the cartons are stacked horizontally and flat. Open the ends so that the wood can acclimatise. All our boards are kiln dried to 8.5% moisture content and they need to acclimatise to your local environment in the rooms where they will be installed. You should allow at least 10 to 14 days for the boards to acclimatise making sure that you have a room temperature of about 18 degrees C with humidity no more than about 55%. Do not lay solid boards in basements for example, or over garages or open spaces such as open ground below the joists. In winter when the temperature is very low and the air is very dry you should use a humidifier if possible especially if the room is heated to a fairly high temperature.

The following is very important

All wet trades such as plastering and wallpapering must be finished All the plaster must be totally dry Floor and wall tiles have been installed for at least 2 weeks Radiators have been bled with any leaks rectified The concrete sub floor has a moisture content of less than 10% All windows and doors are fully fixed All painting is completed All other trades have finished

SUB FLOORS

In most home we now have concrete floors and they should be checked for damp proof courses and also humidity. The surface should be firm, clean, level and grease free. If there is some possibility of dampness then use the Bona R410 to seal the floor. If the concrete floor is uneven by more than 2mm then you can use a self levelling compound but in this case you will not be able to glue the floor down as the glue may cause the levelling compound to break away.

In older houses there is normally and air gap below the joists, in this case either use engineered boards or put a ply subfloor down with a damp proof membrane below to ensure that any humidity and temperature difference will not affect your solid floor once installed.

Where you are fixing to old floor boards you must make sure that they are firmly fixed and that there are no loose boards or protruding nails. It is always safest if you want to lay your new floor over an existing one that you add screws to the old boards as well as nails. If you want to take the old floor boards up then make sure the joists are sound and remove all the nails you can. If the old floorboards are substandard and you want to lay the new boards in the same direction then you should screw down a plywood sub base on which you can then glue down your new floor. This will ensure that you do not get “creaky” boards and your new floor will be completely flat and secure. If you lay your new floor directly onto existing boards in the same direction you are likely to get problems in the future. Normally it is always best to lay the boards lengthways in a room and not across the shortest space.

INSTALLATION

There are two main methods to fixing your floor described below. Before starting your installation you should open several packs so that you can mix the packs to get the best layout. Random lengths mean that you will get a total range of different lengths in each pack, each pack will not always have the same length boards. As solid wood will move the random lengths mean that you will have less of a problem with twisting and warping.

Wood is a natural product and nature always surprises us so you will get different colour hues and grain variation even from the same tree. Each board and each floor is unique and it is important that you get the layout correct so that you can enjoy your floor for years to come and regard it as a piece of beauty and art. With solid wood you must always leave an expansion gap around side of each room of at least 10mm to 15mm.

Glueing

We normally recommend the Bona R850 adhesive as it dries like a hard rubber and is easy to use. We supply this at below trade price with a comb to spread the adhesive. When you use this method you glue the boards directly on to your old floorboards, concrete floor or plywood subfloor.  Please follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully which you will find on each tub of adhesive.

Nailing or Screwing

This is the traditional method and all boards should be secret nailed or screwed at an angle of 45% through the top of the tongue. Our comprehensive traditional installation guide shows this in diagrammatic form. You should us the lost nail heads and a pneumatic nail gun preset to the correct angle which you can hire from any good tool shop. For some very hard species you may need to use a small drill to make a guide hole so that you do not split the tongue when nailing through.

Floating Floors

You should not try and float a solid wood floor the natural movement of solid wood means that you may have problems in the future.

AFTER INSTALLATION WOOD CARE

Lacquered Flooring: we supply a maintenance kit for our aluminium oxide UV coated floors. Normally a quick hoover or dry dust mop will do the job, for stubborn stains just use a kitchen wipe or our special cleaners and replenishing solution.

UV Oiled Floors: these also require little maintenance as they have been sealed and heat treated at the factory. There is a special UV oil maintenance kit and also soap oil which can be used every few months depending on the level of traffic to keep the floor looking like new.

Natural Oiled Floors: we only supply one board that has natural oil and these need to be maintained regularly, the new soap oil and maintenance kits are the perfect solution.

NEVER USE AGRESSIVE CLEANING PRODUCTS CONTAINING AMMONIA, BLEACH OR SILICONES, AND NEVER LEAVE SURPLUS WATER ON THE FLOOR.

Always protect chair and furniture legs with felt pads Place mats at entrances to absorb grit and dirt from outside Clean with the proper maintenance kits or just wipe with a damp sponge

REMEMBER: Wood is a beautiful natural product and due to this the industry standard states that up to 5% may not be usable for the intended purpose.

Embroidered Polo Shirt That Started Off as a Tennis Shirt

Embroidered Polo Shirt That Started Off as a Tennis Shirt

A polo shirt is a t-shirt with collars, and a tastefully embroidered polo shirt has greater appeal. Remember that alligator across your left breast? The polo shirt collars are often button down. The shirt typically has two small slits on both sides at the bottom, and might also have a pocket.

Polo shirt originated as a tennis shirt, to replace the earlier cumbersome tennis wear. Its inventor of this new tennis shirt, tennis champion Lacoste, put the crocodile emblem on these shirts because he was often called ‘the alligator’ in the tennis circuit.

How this tennis shirt became the polo shirt is an interesting story. Though polo players soon adopted it, replacing their earlier long-sleeved wear, this fact alone could not have led to the fame of the polo shirt. It was when Ralph Lauren’s embroidered polo shirts (with the horse-borne polo player emblem) became immensely popular that the erstwhile tennis shirt all but became the ‘polo shirt’.

Golf players also adopted the shirt as their own, often with golf cuts to make them true golf shirts. It is standard wear for golf players now.

So the tennis shirt not only became a polo shirt; it became a de-facto sports shirt, by whatever name it was called.

Status of the Embroidered Polo Shirt Now

The polo shirt entered day-to-day lives soon and has become a standard item of clothing worn by both men and women these days. It is even worn to offices that accept less formal wear but are not ready to accept t-shirts yet.

Polo shirts come in numerous styles, with the horizontal striped style being a popular one. The shirts come in different colors, with or without a pocket, in men’s and women’s styles, made of knitted yarn, cotton or poly-cotton, heavy or light and so on.

Polo shirts are often worn with an under shirt for warmth.

Embroidered polo shirts with a neat little emblem on the breast add a neat touch. The emblem is typically tailored to specific themes or needs, such as golf tours, corporate events, business branding and even a stag weekend.

Conclusion

The embroidered polo shirt started out as a tennis shirt, with the Lacoste’s famous crocodile emblem on the left breast. Designed as an alternative to the uncomfortable tennis wear, it was soon adopted by other sports such as polo and golf. The tennis shirt had become a de facto sports shirt, with the name polo shirt stuck to it.

These days, both plain and embroidered polo shirts are worn in non-sports environments, including offices that accept some informality. A tasteful little emblem adds a touch of class to the polo shirt, which can come in many styles.

How Does Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Affect a Person?

How Does Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Affect a Person?

There is another school of thought that the addiction is due to a mental disorder and causes physical dependency. The mental disorder must be treated first in order for any treatment plan to work properly.

One more argument is that the alcoholism and drug addiction is due to chemical imbalance. With this belief, it is thought that the addiction must be treated with some sort of medication after detox has been completed.

Scientific studies support each concept but there are no full answers and the fact remains there are millions of alcoholics and drug addicts still out there. When someone goes through the treatment process, his chances of staying clean can range between 16% and 20%. If we want recovery rates to rise, we have to come up with some sort of treatment that will make this happen.

The last thought on addiction is that the alcoholism and drug addiction problem probably has something to do with the life cycle of addiction, which means there is some trauma suffered at one time or another or a painful experience an addict can’t seem to get through without the use of some sort of chemical.

An example of this reason for addiction would be the person who can’t seem to fit in with others, a painful condition either physical or mental, or a person who may be dealing with another real or imagined problem. The alcoholic or addict may feel there is no other way out of the situation and the addiction begins. The first drink loosens him up and then the numbness sets in and the addict begins the downward spiral.

The relief that an addict may feel is only temporary but it is enough to get the addict over the pain. The feelings that are suppressed by the drink or the drug are something that the addict would rather feel so the continued drinking is never about pleasure; it is always a form of self medication that leads him down a road where returning is that hardest step ever taken.

Effects of Alcoholism and Drug Addiction

The quality of life for this individual will gradually begin to decrease and the addiction will start to be a way to hide from the facts. Each and every moment an addict feels the pain of life, he will choose to take a drink or get high so he can avoid the pain. Alcoholism and drug addiction becomes a vicious cycle from which there seems no return. There are usually only three outcomes: sobriety, prison, and the worst case scenario — death.

How to Clean your Stone Fireplace

How to Clean your Stone Fireplace

A fireplace is an object of such great joy and comfort. It is easy to picture out the whole family or a group of friends on the hearth of a stone fireplace wrapped in blankets, swapping storied and sharing eggnog or marshmallows. In one’s imagination, all this may seem so soothing and appealing. This is probably why many families still choose to have a wood or stone fireplace around. The thing is, when winter is over, one is invariably faced with the prospect of having to scrub a stone fireplace clean. All of a sudden everyone just wants to keep as far away as possible form what was once a cozy stone fireplace.

There are of course, many different ways to clean a stone fireplace. You should take into consideration such things as stone fireplace material, fireplace age, fireplace condition and cleaning implements and ingredients to be used. Be forewarned that not every solution is full proof and may even damage your stone fireplace depending on its condition and the existence of previous damages. You should try different ideas for cleaning a stone fireplace with the understanding that you may be experimenting.

During Winter

It would help you a lot if you tried to minimize the dirt on your stone fireplace while you are actually using it. You should consider putting an aluminum sheet under your stone fireplace grate and pulling the sheet out after use so that you don’t have to extensively sweep the ashes out. Of course, you can always do it the old fashioned way and clean the ash with a broom and dustpan. For soot problems, a good home remedy is to throw some salt into the fire to get rid of the unsightly black stains.

Homemade Solutions

You can clean the soot off your stone fireplace wall and face by using a variety of homemade methods. You can try a few for your stone fireplace but not every solution will work. Some will recommend spraying water on the stone fireplace face or wall to make the absorption of the cleaning implements faster. Others however would simply recommend gentle scrubbing with a combination of water and detergent. You can also try washing the stone with an all purpose cleaner first and then scrubbing with mild body soap and water, intermittently applying the all purpose cleaner.

Trisodium Phosphate

If all else fails, mix a gallon of water with half a cup of trisodium phosphate and scrub your stone fireplace clean. This mixture is toxic though so you should make sure that you have a proper mask and gloves and that all your windows open for proper ventilations. Be certain that you have covered your other pieces of furniture or carpet.

The Experts

You probably can clean your stone fireplace on your own. You have to think though of calling in the experts at least once a year to thoroughly clean your fireplace of soot and ash. You chimney should of course be handled by experts and should be regularly checked for damages.
